Student Resources
The primary function of
the Clarence Mitchell Library is to support the education of the students
at Highland Community College. We want you to be
aware that our staff is available to help you with any of your research
needs. Never hesitate to call the library for assistance with finding
resources, paper or online. Many resources are available to assist
students in their pursuit of information:

Online Periodical Resources. Whether you are on or off
campus, a wide array of online databases full of information from
magazines, scholarly journals, newspapers and many other resources are
available to you from the Highland Library.
· Research
consultations. Consult one of our staff librarians (Laura, Michael, or
Judy) for assistance with your research.
· Classroom instruction. You will become
familiar with our faces as we visit your classes to discuss library
resources and Information Literacy.

Assistance with Distance Learning. Contact library and academic
computing support for technical assistance with Moodle and telecourses.
· Information about
Telecourses. Read more about how telecourses at HCC are managed.
· HCC Student Writing Style and
Form Guide. Check the style guide created by Highland's own English staff members.
This guide is preferred by many Highland
instructors for citations and references in term papers. Double check with your instructor -- they
may have a preference for the MLA (Modern Language Association) or the APA
(American Psychological Association) style guides, both of which are
